LOCAL DELIVERY, EXPLAINED
How local parcel delivery works
From a pickup quote to proof of delivery, this guide explains what senders, couriers, and recipients can expect when a parcel moves through London, Ontario.
1. Book with a clear price
A sender chooses a pickup hub, enters the destination, selects the parcel size, and requests a quote. The total shown before confirmation is the Flux Drop delivery price. Wallet orders are charged after confirmed drop-off; cash-on-delivery orders are marked as cash due so the recipient and courier know what to expect.
Before ordering, check the street address, apartment or unit instructions, recipient mobile number, and parcel size. A complete destination prevents avoidable delays. The optional recipient number is used for delivery updates and lets that recipient request the status of their parcel by text.
2. Seal and verify each handoff
Every parcel receives a seal code. The sender should keep that code private until an in-person pickup or drop-off check. Couriers do not receive the sender-only seal in their parcel history. At the handoff, the code confirms that the same sealed parcel is moving through the delivery.
If the seal does not match, the workflow records the issue instead of silently completing the handoff. The sender can see tamper or reseal history and either participant can open a support ticket. Do not hand over a parcel when the person, vehicle, or seal does not match the information in the app.
3. Track progress and the courier’s ETA
Once a courier accepts the parcel, the sender sees the courier’s name, vehicle, current parcel status, and route progress. The courier can set an operational ETA in minutes. That ETA is stored on the parcel, survives a reconnect, and appears to the sender immediately.
An ETA is an estimate, not a guarantee. Traffic, safe parking, stacked pickups, weather, building access, and a recipient who is not ready can change it. Couriers should update the estimate when conditions materially change instead of entering an unrealistically short time.
4. Give recipients a simple status path
A recipient whose mobile number is attached to the parcel can text the published Flux Drop number with STATUS. The reply includes the parcel stage, drop-off, courier name when assigned, and the courier-entered ETA when one is available. Parcel-number lookups are limited to the sender or intended recipient number.
At delivery, confirm the parcel identity and seal before accepting it. Cash-on-delivery should be exchanged only at the verified handoff. The sender’s history records the delivered time, payment status, courier note, and delivery details needed for later support.
5. Request a return without confusing it with a refund
A sender can request return logistics for an eligible delivered parcel within the displayed return window. They choose a reason and can add details about damage, a wrong item, an item that was not as expected, a refusal, or another issue. Operations reviews the request and may approve it, schedule pickup, mark it in transit, receive it, and resolve it.
A return request does not automatically promise a merchandise refund or a delivery-fee refund. Flux Drop transports parcels; it may not be the seller of what is inside. Any refund, goodwill credit, replacement, or insurance decision is reviewed separately with the responsible merchant or operations team.
